The diamond stud was hugely popular last year and will be over and over again in years to come. Celebrities were seen adorning their ear with simply sleek and delicate studs. I've put together a great selection of real high-end pieces that you could add to your jewellery box and some purse-friendly alternatives including white topaz and zircon

 The New Classic

Round pavé diamond studs are the new classic. Any woman cold wear these earrings and they come in at all prices, in all metals, with thick collets or thin collets. It's just the case of finding that one for you. Tip for buying online: With any of these I would suggest trying to see them in person even if you buy them online. Studs always look larger on the internet than when you see them in person. If you can also look for a photo of someone wearing them on the website so you can give them a bit of scale. I've selected these three as they are silver, gold and rose coloured, at varying price points and also with varying collet thickness.

Geometric Pavé

Did you like the pavé but thought there is not much character in a simple circle diamond earring? If so, then this next selection is for you. We've got three pairs of diamond pave stud earrings but with a little directional twist to give them that extra bit of character.

I would happily wear all three of these earrings and firmly believe that despite their more unconventional shape that they are time proof and worth any investment.

The Solitaire

These are the most traditional pairs and probably the most trend proof earrings of our edit due to their minimalist metal work. The prongs, cut and size are what make these pairs varied. Choosing a silver coloured prong will make the diamond stone look bigger but then a rose colour will add a warming colour to the earrings and these can have huge overall changes to your face.

The Inbetween

For the woman that wants it all. A stunning centre stone and a touch pave. If you asked me to choose one it would be close as all are stunning designs. I love the white topaz stone in the Kiki McDonough but also the shape of Shaun Leane's studs.
