I don't often feature jewellery that's from more bespoke jewellers but I had to share this rough cut pink sapphire ring from Baroque Jewllers in Brighton. It's from their Rough collection which feature one off unique pieces with raw set precious gemstones. I have a bit of a thing for unusual coloured precious gemstones, especially pink stones. This is a pink ruby. It's pleasantly bright and feminine but depending on the way they are cut and set they don't have to be super feminine or girly.

When ever I see a photo of this ring it instantly cheers me up. The bright pink ruby is a just so vibrant and beautifully complimented by the luster of the yellow gold. I also really like the contrast of the detailed metal work on the ring band and then the transition to the less uniform claws and then to the raw pink ruby.
From every angle of this ring you see something new such as different side stones. There are eight side stones in total featuring a two diamonds weighing 0.11cts, five pink sapphires weighing 0.34cts and one 0.10ct Ruby. Even here I love the lack of uniformity. It makes the ring more detailed and tonal rather than having all diamonds or all pink sapphires.

From all top down view you get a stunning perspective of all the claws on this ring. These have all been cast to reflect the shape of the stone and again I love these aren't evenly spaced out with more of the claw prongs clustered to the left of this image and than three over on the right hand side.

The yellow gold band is made from solid 18ct gold and isn't a payday treat at £3500.00. What makes me really happy and a little sad is that once this ring is gone it's gone but I'll be happy knowing that it's gone to a loving home and someone will be wearing this stunning piece of craftsmanship.
